Well, the weeks are flying by and here we are at Friday again! The children have been continuing with our 'Easter' learning theme.
The Caterpillars have been busy with their Easter crafts as they did painting with pom poms and cotton reels on Easter eggs, made Easter cards, did Easter themed sticking pictures and had Easter themed play dough. Other activities have included sorting bugs in to groups and colours, guessing games with animals and plenty of dancing! The Caterpillars have also been fascinated this week with the builders outside the front of the school house and have spent most days in the garden watching them work.
The Butterflies have been creating lots of egg themed art work this week including making patterns on Easter eggs, cutting collage eggs and threading Easter eggs. We have also made bunny ear headbands, created bird feeders using pipe cleaners with hoop cereal and we had our baking club where we made jam tarts. Group times have included comparing groups of objects to find the most, answering 'when?' questions and practicing diagonal drawing. Today, we welcomed one of the children's grandads to Preschool to help us make our pond which I will add photos on Tapestry to share with you.
Next week is our last week for Spring Term and to end the week we welcome you all to our Easter party on Thursday 28th at 2pm. We will be having an Easter egg hunt, some games and a buffet snack. If you are able to contribute to the snacks, food lists are available in each room. If your child does not usually attend a Thursday afternoon session, they are all welcome as long as they have an adult to stay with them as we cannot accommodate more children within our ratio.
Reminders:
- Grapes - we have seen an increase in grapes being put into lunchboxes whole which can be a choking hazard for children. Please can we ask for them to be cut lengthways before being added to lunch boxes. Thank you.
- Drop off and collection - a quick reminder to drop off and collect children at the allocated times to avoid any disruption to the preschool day. If you are going to be late and cannot make other arrangements, please give us a call to make us aware. Thank you.
