This week's round up - 20th November

We are over half way through the national lockdown and what a fun and busy time the children are all having at preschool. This week we welcomed back our two year olds and they have all returned bright eyed and ready for fun! The morning sessions seem to really suit the younger ones and they have enjoyed lots of activities this week to support learning about our bodies and health. The children have practiced teeth brushing with mouth laminates, had lots of messy fun doing feet painting, learned about our bones and drawn x-rays as well as lots of fun exercises and action songs to keep us fit and healthy.

Next week we are starting our Christmas celebrations early and have some festive fun activists planned for the children. On Thursday, we will be joining the school in Decoration Day and invite the children to wear their festive jumpers. On the day the children will help to decorate the room with their home-made decorations as well as putting up our Christmas tree. If you have started to put your decorations up early at home, why not add a photo to Tapestry to share with everyone.

You will have all received an email this week asking you to update the MCAS system for Spring term sessions. Please do complete this as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly and assess what sessions we have available for everyone. You will also need to update the Lunch club session which is in addition to the funded hours. If your child attends a full day and you want them to remain at Preschool for lunchtime, you will need to book into the lunch club session for an additional £2. You can still provide a packed lunch for your child or if you would like them to have a hot or cold meal provided by the school, this can be added on for an additional £2.

As from January 2021, we will also be asking all children to attend a minimum of three sessions. If this is relevant to you, please do update your sessions on MCAS as soon as possible.

It has come to that time of year when you need to register your child for their school start in September 2021. The applications are open now and you must have yours completed by 15th January. I would recommended you complete them sooner rather than later. Please see the Prospective Parents page on the school website for further information about applying and about information about Meldreth Primary School.

Katie and myself are very much looking forward to returning to preschool soon to enjoy some festive fun with you all in December!
