This week's round up - 23rd October

This is my final round up for this half term and what a busy fun half term we have had at preschool! This week we had a lots of fun learning more about Autumn and getting very messy! We have explored conkers and autumn leaves, different size and colour pumpkins and squashes, played with gooey jelly and slimy gloop! We have embraced the changing weather and had lots of fun splashing in the puddles and enjoying our outdoor activities under our shelter. We have found some exciting insects in the garden this week including a very bright and colourful caterpillar!

The end of our week has been lots of fun as we had a dress up day and lots of Halloween inspired activities making faces for pumpkins, witches hats and conker spiders! We have also revamped our planting area this week and now have a new selection of colourful and scented plants for the children to enjoy during their time outside.

When we return, we will be celebrating and introducing the children to Diwali, the festival of light. There are some links to some information about this celebration below. We would also love to talk with the children about what fun they have had over the half term so any photos and comments on Tapestry would be most welcome to share with the group.

We are busy finalising the children’s half term summaries on Tapestry and they will be available for you to see very soon.

I expect when we return that the weather will be much the same so please make sure the children have all the appropriate clothing for our ever changing weather.  We also now able to access the garden in the old school house so that we can have another natural outdoor space to enjoy with the children. We will be planning some visits when we return and be share to look for the photos of our time there on Tapestry.

I hope you all have a fun and restful week and we look forward to seeing you all when we return.
