Year 6 Residential Review

Tuesday...Woke everyone at 7am after a sleep-filled night. Great breakfast for all and onto bus to Ravenscar. Dropped off and began the very long slog down to Robin Hoods Bay. I say “down” to draw attention to the fact that it was obvious we were going to have to come back up. The 17km round trip was a source of pride for them.
The mist lifted at Ravenscar and hovered off to the sea on the headland at Whitby... rather interesting, fortuitous even, for my annual story telling, as the expert then revealed that our friendly Count Dracula not only took on the form of a dog or bird BUT also liked to become an all-encompassing and lingering mist over Whitby.
Lovely fish and chips dinner. Down to the beach and many begging for bed...
Wednesday...Another sleep packed night for all! They were woken at 7 and we headed to York for the day! Fabulous crime and punishment workshop in the York Castle Dungeons. Then the Victorian schoolroom.
Off to York Chocolate factory to eat chocolate samples and make your own lollies. Dinner included chocolate fudge cake dessert, and they were in the swimming pool for a whole hour!
Later we walked the headland, climbed to the ruins, took consignment of 23 chip cones and had a great time on the beach.
All packed and zonked.
