As you may be aware the pupil roll at Meldreth Primary School has been increasing and new housing developments are proposed in the village. To meet this additional demand Cambridgeshire County Council is pleased to announce its proposals to expand Meldreth Primary School. We propose to develop the school to become a 210 place school. Accommodation will also be provided to allow for the relocation and possible expansion of the pre-school which currently use the village hall.
The safeguarding of pupils is of the utmost importance to the project team. Therefore regular meetings are being held with the school, principal contractor and project consultants to ensure layout plans and project timescales minimise the impact on day-to-day activities of the school whilst works are being carried out.
Subject to a satisfactory planning process, it is intended that the construction work will commence in February 2018, with a view to occupying the new build from the October 2018 half term.
