Welcome to Hawk Class which is comprised of our eldest children in school, Year 6.

Our focus is to strive to identify each child's individual talents and to nurture these whilst ensuring that they have the broad learning and skills they will need to enjoy life as a caring, capable and personable individual. The class ethos is geared towards breeding mature individuals; the expectation is that Hawk children represent excellent role models for the younger members of our school.

Health and Attendance

Regular attendance at school is vital for your child’s education.

If your child is absent from school for any reason school needs to know. Please telephone the school by 9.15 a.m. on the first day of absence.

We need to know the reason (as schools are required to distinguish between authorised and unauthorised absence of pupils) and how long your child is likely to be off. Please ask your Doctor for advice regarding how long your child should be kept off school.

If medicine is prescribed, arrangements can only be made for the administration in school if the dosage is x4 daily. Parents are asked to complete a request form and all medicines must be handed to Mrs Robinson, in the original packaging, clearly labelled with date, contents, pupil’s name and dosage.

Our Family Support Worker in conjunction with our Education Welfare Officer is always available to give advice if required.

Homework & PE Days

Reading:All children should read for at least 30 minutes daily. Please talk to your child about what they have read.

PE: PE lessons will take place on a Tuesday afternoon and a Wednesday afternoon this term.

Every Monday, children will be given Maths and English homework. This will be related to learning in class that week, and is due back the following Monday.

Your child will need their named PE kit, including blue/black shorts, white t-shirt and trainers and for safety reasons please remember that long hair needs to be tied back and earrings should not be worn on PE days. If it is outdoor games we are likely to go out when it is cold/damp so appropriate jogging bottoms and fleece/top will be needed. Please ensure all these items are named.
