Supporting Meldreth Families with Fareshare

8th February 2019

Jamie Oliver, Tesco, and FareShare have cooked up a new food waste initiative to help communities across the UK make better use of surplus food and reduce the amount of edible produce ending up being thrown away.

Our on-site pre-school uses the food it receives through the programme to supplement children’s snacks, often with high quality premium fresh fruit and vegetables. Any leftover food is offered to you as pre-school and school parents to take home and use.

Using the scheme stops food waste, enables pre-school to provide high quality nutritious snacks for a fraction of the cost and to supply food to our families.

"I feel proud that we are providing a service that supports our community."

Sasha Howard, Headteacher Meldreth Primary School.
