Year 3 & 4 Indoor Football

22nd March 2016

On Tuesday 22nd March, five valient Year 3 and 4 footballers set off to take part in the annual 5 a side indoor football tournament at Melbourn Village College.

The footballers, George M, Charlie W, James S, Elias R, Cuan H and Isaac W had this to say...

"Our first game was against Harston's first team and we went 1-0 down after 30 seconds! It was a hard game, but then George and after that Charlie scored to make the total 2-1. Then Harston scored an own goal and George scored again to make the final score 4-1.

The second match was against Melbourn who some of us know. They were really good players. George scored first then James scored. George accidently handballed the ball so Melbourn took a penalty. The shot was going into the top corner but luckily Isaac saved it. The final result was 2-1.

The next game was against Thriplow. We started to win when Charlie scored the first goal, brilliantly set up by Cuan. Then Elias had a free kick from behind the half way line which hit the cross bar. After that Elias scored a penalty and George scored from the half way line and we ended up winning the game.

Our final match was against Harston’s second team where Charlie scored two goals, George scored and then James scored a goal which hit the post and then came back and was promptly dispatched into the goal off James' weaker foot to give a result of 4-0.

We were unbeaten in all games which meant that we won the tournament.

The score total was:

  • George M - 5
  • Charlie W - 3
  • James S (who would like you to know he is in Year 3!) -2
  • Elias R -1
  • Cuan H who set the ball up magnificently  in two games, and
  • Isaac W who only let in 1 goal in the whole tournament."
