Manager's Blog

We have come to the end of the first half of summer term already! It has gone so quickly and the children have had such fun playing and learning together. This week we enjoyed some more jubilee themed activities as we made and decorated crowns, build castles, used royal family stick puppets and explored red, white and blue rice.

We have been preparing for our return when our learning focus will 'Under the Sea'. We will be making a large display with the children as we find out what creatures live in the ocean and have plans for a giant octopus!

We will being supporting the children leaving us for their next adventure to school as we practice those essential listening and attention skills, continue developing their independence and confidence in self care skills and promoting and supporting positive interactions with others. We will be providing more information about how to help your child get ready for school in the coming weeks.

We will be preparing the children's school reports when we return after half term. These will be for the children going to school only. We will let you know when they are available to read and may also send home a summary sheet for you to add comments about your child to add to their report.

I have seen some great websites with ideas for activities with children, especially outdoors. Click on this link to find activities all about nature from the spotty otter club.
