Manager's Blog 16th June

Well, today was certainly at hot one! To cool down we stayed in the garden all morning playing with lots of water and ice to keep cool and make the most of the shade. In the afternoon we did some quiet activities and watched some of the Julia Donaldson animations...and had a cheeky ice pop! For the rest of the week we have been finishing our under the sea display as we made pufferfish, turtles and starfish. We have also been enjoying our snacks outside this week, making the most of the weather.

Next week we will be enjoying a focus on 'Superheroes and Fantasy', following the children's interests. We will be making masks, cutting out superheroes from magazines to make collages, pretend play with stick puppets and exploring superhero coloured rice. The children have also asked to make unicorn and mermaid pictures.

As part of our new learning focus we invite the children to dress up on any day next week, perhaps on the cooler days, so they can share their favourite characters and fancy dress with their friends.

It looks as though the warm weather may stay a while so please ensure your child brings in a named sunhat. On hot days we will be going straight out into the garden so that we avoid being outside during the hottest part of the day.
