Manager's Blog 21st June

At last the sunny weather has arrived and it has been wonderful to get out in the sunshine this week! The children have continued their learning and play all about ocean animals and the sea and have enjoyed a variety of activities. The children have also shown great creativity this week and have led lots of imaginative play and role play which has been lovely to see.

Some of our themed activities have included making under the sea collages, cutting practice with ocean scenery, sorting summer clothing, painting pictures, water trays, sensory trays, ocean themed doughs and much more.

Next week we continue to learn about the seaside and have some more fun things planned. We will also be using the gardens in the mornings more while it is cool and will have plenty of ice play and water play to keep everyone cool.

  • WATER - Please remember that we encourage only water in water bottles, we have been seeing an increase in juices/squashes recently.
  • GRAPES - All grapes must be cut lengthways to avoid choking for the children.
  • SUN HATS and SUNCREAM - Please ensure your child has a sun hat everyday, we only have a very limited supply of spares. We will reapply sun cream as necessary in the day but please ensure you apply before coming to preschool.

Dates for the diary:

  • 25th, 27th June & 3rd July - School readiness play and stays
  • Friday 12th July - Preschool Graduation
  • Saturday 13th July - Camping in school! (see below)

I have an exciting invite for you courtesy of the PTA. On Saturday 13th July, all families are welcome to camp on school grounds! This is open to Preschool families and should be a very exciting evening! If you are interested, please see the attached poster for details. Just to be aware, children that attend with families must be toilet trained and must be starting school this year to use the pool. All families, however, are welcome to camp!
