Managers Blog 21st October

I can't quite believe we are at half term already but here we are. The new children and families have settled in really well now and all the children have been growing in confidence over the weeks.

We started out term welcoming everyone and followed the topic All About Me. We have a lovely display in the room with the children's self portraits. We continued our learning with Autumn and Harvest topic and we have enjoyed so many seasonal activities, the Autumn bags were a big success. Thank you for getting involved. We have also learned about the Hindu festival of Diwali.

Next term, we plan to begin our learning through the topic of Colours and Shapes. We have some fun activities planned to learn shape names, recognise and match shapes as well as learn about how each shape is different. We will explore colour mixing through lots of different medium including paint, chalk, water and more. We will make decorations for the room using different colours and categorise objects according to their colour. We will also be recognising Halloween, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day and Children in need. Details of any additional events or specific activities will follow after half term. At the end of the November we will be making Christmas tree decorations in preparation for the Christmas Tree festival at the church.
