Managers Blog 26th September

We have really enjoyed our third week back at preschool and continued our learning about Shapes and Colours. We made colourful iced biscuits, did conker rolling, explored an autumnal bug tray, created buildings with colourful blocks, went on shape hunts and many other fun activities.

The children took part in a volcano experiment and we made Pudsey wands and pictures on Friday. The children had the chance to go to the hall a choose a cake to take home and found that very exciting. We also celebrated Nursery Rhyme Week and sang a different rhyme each day:

Monday: The Big Ship Sails

Tuesday: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Once i caught a fish alive

Wednesday: 5 Little speckled frogs

Thursday: B I N G O

Friday: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Rhymes are a great way to promote communication an language development and its lots of fun too!

Next week we continue our focused learning topic and our book for the week is Elmer. We will be making stained glass windows, use natural objects to outline different shapes an take part in a colourful obstacle course. On Thursday we will be joining in with the schools decoration day and our theme is Winter. We will have three rotating activities in the morning to make snowmen, snowflakes and a reindeer bag. These will form our Winter display board. We will also continue to make our tree decorations for the Christmas tree festival.

We have had some lovely donations for our White Raffle Hamper but there's plenty of space left in the box! We would love to be able to fill it with lovely white gifts ready for the Christmas fair raffle on Friday. If you are finding it a challenge to find a white gift, you could simply wrap something in white paper and voila!

Our new entrance seems to be working well and the children are becoming accustomed to the new routine. Could we ask that you stay by the fence and not come into the garden until we come out to welcome you, thank you.
