Well, I can't quite believe that we are at the end of term...it has flown by! We've had so much fun at Preschool, even the rain couldn't stop that! From learning all about different types of transport to learning about the natural world around us as well as so many fabulous celebrations, it's definitely been a busy 12 weeks.
We have enjoyed making yummy pancakes, had our own Preschool library event, made shamrocks and daffodils to celebrate St. David's and St. Patrick's Day, created lovely cards for those we love, dressed in colourful clothing with silly hair and even had a visit from Proff. the scientist!
Next term, our new topics of interest will be 'Lifecycles' and 'Let's get growing'. For the start of our Lifecycles topic, we will be learning about the life cycle of a frog and a butterfly as well as planting some sunflower seeds. We will also be celebrating the festival of Eid-al-Fitr marking the end of Ramadan; a Muslim celebration which involves spending time with family and friends, giving thanks for what we have and fabulous feasts after fasting. To celebrate we will be making lanterns to decorate the room, making collage mosques using different shapes and trying some mango and pineapple.
Previously, I sent an email detailing how our planning will change slightly to accommodate the needs of the setting. From next term, you should expect to see one long observation for your child in the term. This will be a collection of 'teaching moments' collated by your child's key person as these happen 'in the moment'. You may also see some 'wow moments' captured when we see something wonderful your child has achieved.
You will also now receive daily observations highlighting what the day has entailed for all children so you have up to date information to discuss with your child.
We welcome you to continue to add observations from home onto Tapestry as these are always lovely to share with the children. We will have paper copies of the 'interests at home' sheet available for you to complete at the start of Summer term so we have up to date information for all children.
