Managers Blog 4th November

Welcome back after a lovely half term, i hope you all ha a wonderful week. We have returned and the children have been ready to get stuck into their new topic learning all about Shapes and Colours. As part of this topic we have been recognising Halloween and Bonfire night. Activities have included colourful spaghetti worms, rice monsters, making nocturnal animals, glittery play dough, learning a new pumpkin song, exploring what's inside a pumpkin, foam fireworks and so much more! The children have really enjoyed doing dance games and different exercises this week as well as engaging in some listening games and lots of stories.

Next week, we will be continuing to learn about Shapes and Colours as we explore colour matching and sorting trays, go on shape hunts, mixing colours with dough and paints, learning new songs and we will make some edible colourful sparklers!!

We are excited to let you all know that we have a new team member joining us next week as Preschool's new Deputy Manager, Lisa Church. Lisa has many years experience in childcare and it is her passion. I am sure over the next few weeks you will join us in welcoming Lisa as we all get to know her and make her part of our team.

  • Please do bring in a pair of wellies, clearly labelled, for your child as we never know what the weather will be doing! You are welcome to leave a pair at preschool to save going to and fro.
  • Photographs will be taken on Monday and Tuesday next week (7th and 8th). We will make sure any sibling photo's are also taken on these days.

We hope you all have a fun and safe weekend for Bonfire night. Please see here for some practical tips on safety at this time of year.
