Managers Blog 9th December

I cannot quite believe this week has come to an end! We have all been so busy, the days have flown by! We have been making lots of lovely colourful Christmas crafts this week as well as exploring a wintery tuff tray, creating a Gingerbread number line and lots of other Wintery activities.

Next week, we are starting to wind down for the Christmas break and have been asking the children their favourite activities for the week as well as planning some sensory tuff trays, lots of singing and dancing and maybe even some short Christmas and Winter themed films. Every child will, if they haven't already, receive a little gift from the ladies at Preschool. A special thank you to Lisa's Mum for creating the children some wonderful gifts.

As we are now approaching the end of term, I have a few reminders for you all.

  • Funding forms: Please do return these forms by next MONDAY 12th DECEMBER ready for the new term. Without these forms each term, we are not able to apply for the funded hours and this will result in charges applying to keep your child's place.
  • STREP A: There has been quite a bit in the news lately about the Strep A virus and its potentially dangerous outcomes. We are fortunate not to have any cases at present however, I have attached a letter from the Early Years Team with important information. If your child does have a sore throat, high temperature, cough, runny nose, aches or chills, please keep them at home and keep us informed.
  • School Admissions: There is still time to apply for your child's 2023 school place if you haven't already done so. Applications are open until 15th JANUARY 2023 and there is a form attached if you need one. You can also find the link here.
  • Choking hazards: Just a reminder to please cut grapes in half lengthways if adding them to your child's lunch box. This significantly reduces the risk of choking for young children, thank you.

We are currently making plans for new families to join us in January and you will see lots of new faces as we settle the new children in slowly in the first few weeks back. We may also change our routine to accommodate having a larger number of children in daily. When we have finalised our plans we will let you know.

Dates to remember:

  • THURSDAY 15th DECEMBER: Christmas Sing-a-long at 1045am in the school hall. You will be asked to sign in and wear a visitors sticker on the day. Children are welcome to wear a festive outfit.
  • FRIDAY 16th DECEMBER: Christmas Dinner Day, wear your Christmas jumper!
  • TUESDAY 20th DECEMBER: Last day of term
  • WEDNESDAY 4th JANUARY: First day of Spring Term
