This week's round up - 17th September

Another week has flown by and what a mixed week of weather we have had! We started our week with torrential rain spending time indoors doing arts and crafts then the weather picked up and we spent time outdoors in the sand and water trays. We have been creating messy mud pies and digger land in the tuff trays and had a fab car wash in the water tray. We created a dinosaur tuff tray indoors which was very popular as well as a space tray. For arts and crafts this week we have been getting busy with the paints and creating some lovely collages. The children have also loved painting the fences with water outside.

Next week we are theming our tuff tray around space to explore more about the moon, stars and planets and we will make space rockets out or junk modelling. At the art table we will explore the colour monster, making our own with googly eyes and reading the colour monster story. We will be using the dinosaurs in our playdough and painting area to make footprints and we will be making different in the garden as we used coloured water and chalk.

Next week we are closed on Monday for the school inset day and welcome you back on Tuesday. I have added the link here for you to complete the 'Look what I can do' form so that we know what your child is achieving at home.

Next Friday is the PTA back to school event and you are all invited to attend. There will be food and drinks available as well as games for the children and a cake stand. We will also be holding a uniform sale and the PTA will hold their AGM. The event will take place on Friday 24th September from 4pm-6pm.

For Tapestry this week and next week we will continue to add a weekly observation for all children as we finalise our curriculum and record the children's interests. Please do add photos to Tapestry from home as the children love to share their home experiences with us.
