This week's round up - 18th June

This week has been a mixed bag when it came to the weather but it certainly hasn’t stopped us having a fun week. In those first few hot days we had plenty of water and ice play which the children really loved. We have been learning all about healthy foods this week and enjoyed making our role play area into a café. The children really got involved as they took the customers’ orders and made some delicious meals! We have also talked about and drawn our favourite fruits as well as played a number hunt using the fruits from The Hungry Caterpillar. To end the week the children made their own fruit salads…yum!

Ladybirds have done lots of mark making this week and had the most fun creating chalk patterns on the Preschool floor. The ladybirds have also been enjoying lots of stories in their group time as well as practicing teeth brushing on the face mats using tooth brushes and paste.

Dragonflies have been practicing their letters sounds, focussing this week on S. Dragonflies have also been exploring the new resources including magnets and we have been playing lots of group games. On Thursday morning we took a trip to the secret garden too.

Next week we continue learning about our healthy bodies, focussing on exercise and mindfulness. We will be practicing some games and races ready for sports day (details TBC next week) and doing lots of different exercise. We will also be relaxing our minds and bodies as we practice yoga and relaxation techniques.

We are currently working on the children final year assessments for the Ladybirds and school reports for the Dragonflies and will let you know when they are available to view.
