This week we have been looking at different pets and animals in our small world play space as well as at the art table and in the sand and water trays. We have also been practicing lots of different races and obstacle courses as part of sports day preparation. All the of the children during the week have had an opportunity to balance on the beams, crawl through tunnels, jump over hurdles, do the egg and spoon race as well as lots of running! The children have been fantastic at listening to the instructions and rules and taking turns with their friends. Photos will be available next week on Tapestry.
The Dragonflies and Ladybirds have been doing lots of activities together this week although the Dragonflies have been getting few surprises prepared for the end of term.
School reports will be finalised next week and will then be available on Tapestry and we will print a hard copy for each of you to add your own comments and to keep as a memento.
Over the next few weeks we are relaxing our curriculum and have taken on much more input from the children on what they would like to do for the last few weeks this year, leaving the planning up to them! Some of next week’s activities include creating a dinosaur swamp, making beautiful butterflies, animal foot prints in paint and creating colourful snail shells.
As we are all aware, children’s communication and language skills are vitally important and impact on all other areas of learning. Below is a link to the Cambridgeshire Speech and Language Therapy virtual booking page. Here you can book a short virtual session if you have any concerns about your child’s communication development. I have also included some links to useful websites that provide practical activities and information on how to best support your child’s communication and language development.
