As the weeks roll on we find ourselves relaxing our curriculum a little as we prepare for the end of term. The children still have lots of play and learning opportunities with their ideas and input being the main source of ideas for planning. This week the children had a bit of a football focus with the Euros in full swing and decorated their own footballs and made flags. The children have also enjoyed lots of messy play, art activities, outdoor obstacle courses and a bit of trike cleaning too! We also discover that national chocolate day took place this week so on Friday we all had a cheeky bit of chocolate!
Next week, the children have asked for a variety of activities including a theme around the seaside and holidays. We will be making sand castles, seaside crafts and designing ice lollies. The children have also chosen to create a dinosaur swamp and do fruit printing. The children are also enjoying meeting Lola the Leopard and doing some fun activities with her. Lola helps us to be good listeners and next week we will introducing Kofi the Chimpanzee who is going to help us be confident talkers.
Next week, the Dragonflies will be having a socially distanced outside story time with the Reception class teacher in Puffin class to help with their transition to school. All the school reports will also be available on Tapestry next week for you to look at and we will be printing a hard copy to add into your child’s file. The Ladybirds will be receiving a Summer Book to take home to record all the lovely things they get up to over the holidays. This can be returned at the start of Autumn Term in September and will be a talking point for settling back into Preschool.
If you plan on leaving before the end of term, please do let us know so that we can prepare any paperwork and art work for your child to take home.
We have decided that although we cannot invite you in for the usually graduation and end of term party, we will still have a celebration day on Thursday 22nd July, which is our last day. We will have a picnic party and lots of fun games and dancing. Keep a look out for some fun video’s and photo’s on Tapestry in the next two week!
-Now more than ever it is vitally important that we protect ourselves and those around us with cases rising across the county. Please ensure that you wear a mask for collection and drop off times to keep everyone safe.
-There are some coughs and colds going around at present and we ask that if your child is unwell to keep them at home to avoid further spreading of the illness.
-We are still in the position that if your child has any covid symptoms we will require you to isolate until you have received a negative test result. If you or anyone in your family displays the following symptoms, please arrange for a test and isolate:
New or persistent cough, fever, loss of taste or smell.
