Year 6 Residential

10th June 2024

Day 1
After a prompt departure, the children have arrived on the island and have reached their destination. They are incredibly excited and have travelled well.

The children enjoyed the ferry journey - and got to sit on the outside deck in the beautiful sunshine!
After arriving safely, staff are keeping the children busy already with activities involving archery, den building and mini olympics, all after a delicious lunch of course!
We see through your plans, Miss McGinty - trying to wear the children out before bedtime...Good luck this evening!
Day 2
After an early start for the boys who were awake at 4:30am this morning and showered and dressed by 7am, the group enjoyed a not so healthy breakfast tio fill them with energy for the day.

The morning has been spent in the sun on the beach with free time in the sea and rock-pools...how jealous are we!
The children have been fuelled today by Full English for breakfast, jacket potatoes with a range of toppings and salad for lunch and lasagne or tomato pasta for dinner.  Jamie has won the prize for eating the most garlic bread...
The report today is that the children will be regretting their early start this morning and might leave their hot chocolate in favour of some well needed sleep after a busy day. Let's hope they make it to breakfast on time!
Day 3
After sleeping from 10pm right through to 7am this morning, the children are so much more energetic today. Their morning has been spent building and riding rafts on the sea. They look a little colder today and wet but obviously happy!
Not sure about this, but it appears that they are attempting to head home a different way...by raft!

It appears that pick up time hasn't changed and that the children made a U-turn in their rafts... The afternoon was filled with high ropes challenges and fire to warm up!

Day 4
We did say the children's time there would be jam packed! A visit wouldn't be worth it without the ubiquitous Jacobs ladder and the Quick Zip it seems!
I bet the children are looking forward to the Quiver Walk later this evening - one can only guess what this entails!

Day 5
After a last banquet breakfast this morning on the menu for the rest of the morning is bushcraft, buggy building, orienteering and archery before lunch and departure back home - this time in the coach not raft!
