About our Preschool

At Meldreth Preschool, we support children to be the very best they can be, recognising that every child is unique.  Meldreth Preschool is a school governor-run provision operating under Section 27 of the Education Act 2002 (Community Provision Powers), under the leadership of the school’s Headteacher.

How Do We Support Your Child's Learning and Development?

We believe that children learn best through play and exploration. That’s why we offer stimulating, open-ended activities—including the use of loose parts—that inspire curiosity and encourage children to think critically and creatively.

Our skilled practitioners promote sustained shared thinking, helping children to work through challenges, build resilience, and develop strong problem-solving skills. Our well-resourced outdoor area is just one example of a space where children can explore, experiment, and grow in confidence.

By following children’s individual interests, we ensure activities are meaningful and engaging, helping them to become deeply involved in their learning.

Our Approach

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, giving equal importance to all seven areas of development to ensure your child receives a well-rounded, balanced start to their educational journey.

Session Times

We offer a variety of flexible sessions to suit families’ needs:

  • Morning Session: 8:45am – 11:45am

  • Lunch Club: 11:45am – 12:15pm

  • Afternoon Session: 12:15pm – 3:15pm

Children attending just the morning or afternoon session are welcome to join our Lunch Club for an additional fee.
