At our school we are committed to meeting the needs of every child in the school as part of our ‘whole child’ approach.
In this section, you will find detailed information about different areas of special needs education here at Meldreth Primary School.
Local Authorities and schools share information about services for children and young people with special needs, aged 0-25. This is called the ‘Local Offer.’ The Local Offer helps families know what support is available nearby.
At Meldreth Primary, all pupils receive quality first teaching with work tailored to their needs, regular assessment, and clear feedback. Progress is tracked each term to maintain high expectations, identify those needing extra help, and allocate resources effectively. Learners are included in engaging lessons, encouraged to express their views, and supported to participate fully in school life.
Some pupils receive additional in-class support from teachers or teaching assistants to help them make good progress. Some pupils are offered personalised support which includes working with specialist agencies such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, and counsellors.
How we use the LA Local Offer to support our pupils is shared in the school’s ‘Special Educational Needs Information Report.’
