Uniform

Uniform Expectations

It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform both in school and on school trips.

We believe that wearing a school uniform:

  • Promotes a sense of pride in the school
  • Encourages a feeling of community and belonging
  • Provides a practical and smart standard of dress
  • Helps identify children as members of the school
  • Reduces distractions in the classroom (unlike fashion items)
  • Supports equality among pupils in terms of appearance
  • Offers good value for money for most families
  • Is designed with health and safety in mind

 Jewellery

To ensure children's safety and comfort, we ask that:

  • Long hair is tied back at all times
  • A wide-brimmed sun hat is encouraged during sunny weather
  • Only one pair of small, plain stud earrings is permitted
  • Earrings must be able to be removed by the child for PE
  • No other jewellery should be worn (except for verified religious or medical reasons)
  • Watches may be worn by pupils in Years 3–6
