  • Position: Maternity Cover Teacher (0.4 FTE – 2 days/week)

  • Start Date: October 2025

  • End Date: 31st August 2026

  • Salary: Main Pay Scale (M1–M6)

  • Key Stage: KS1 or KS2 (depending on your experience and preference)

Join Our Team – Pre-school Assistant (Ad-hoc Bank Staff)

Meldreth Preschool is an Ofsted-rated GOOD setting, proudly supporting the learning and development of children aged 2 to 4 years. We’re passionate about nurturing curiosity, encouraging friendships, and preparing little ones for the exciting journey into school life.

Pay: £12.30 p/h

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a caring and flexible Preschool Assistant to join our team on an ad-hoc basis. This role is perfect for someone who is happy to step in when our full-time staff are unavailable—whether that’s due to sickness, training, or other absences.

What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you’ll have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 qualification in Childcare or equivalent (desired)

  • Experience in at least one other early years setting (including work placements)

  • A solid understanding of the EYFS requirements for pre-schools

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

  • Strong communication skills—with both your team and our parents/carers

  • The ability to provide flexible, ad-hoc availability, including out-of-hours team meetings and training sessions
