We have had a great first week back.  The children have been amazing and have worked extremely hard.  We started looking at our new class text Rapunzel.  We have listened to different versions of the story and written character descriptions for the Witch and Rapunzel.  In phonics, we started to learn about split digraphs focusing on a_e and have looked at words such as cake, game and wave.  In ICT this term we are developing our own electronic story books.  Our task this week was to choose an animal, draw it and write a sentence to introduce them using the story application on Purplemash. 

Our history topic for this term is about castles.  This week we learnt about the Battle of Hastings and how William the Conquerer invaded England.  In DT we will be making puppets this term.  To introduce the theme we learnt about all the different types of puppets and then spent some time exploring how they work.  In PE, we are doing our Jumping Jacks unit.  The children have been learning how to land safely and perform a jump in a straight shape.
