Pupil Leadership

At Medreth Primary School, our pupil leadership roles give children the opportunity to develop responsibility, confidence, and teamwork while making a positive impact across the school.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors help make Medreth Primary a safe, friendly, and respectful place for everyone. They promote kindness, raise awareness about bullying, and encourage children to speak up if they see or experience unkind behaviour. They are always there to listen and support their peers, helping to create a caring school community.

Eco Councillors

Our Eco Councillors take the lead in making our school more environmentally friendly. They help organise recycling, reduce waste, and encourage everyone to save energy. Eco Councillors work on projects around the school to promote sustainability and help others understand the importance of looking after our planet.

School Councillors

School Councillors are elected by their classmates to represent their views and ideas. They meet regularly to discuss ways to improve school life, from learning and play to school events and facilities. By sharing feedback and helping make decisions, they make sure every child has a voice in how our school is run.

Play Leaders

Our older pupils serve as Play Leaders during lunchtime, both in the playground and the school hall. They organise games and activities to encourage physical activity, teamwork, and the development of sporting values and skills.

Play Leaders also:

  • Promote healthy eating habits
  • Support lunchtime expectations
  • Act as positive role models for younger children

Through their role, Play Leaders help create a fun, active, and respectful lunchtime environment.

Peer Mediators

At Medreth Primary School, our Peer Mediators play a key role in helping children find positive and appropriate ways to respond to problems with others. They work towards win-win solutions, aiming to resolve issues fairly and prevent further conflict. This initiative forms an important part of our school-wide approach to conflict resolution and emotional wellbeing.

Through training and practical experience, our Peer Mediators develop a range of valuable skills, including:

  • Responding to peers in a cooperative and constructive way
  • Enhancing their own and others’ communication skills
  • Acting fairly and impartially
  • Practising active listening
  • Understanding conflict and its effects
