Volunteering

Thank you for the support you give to our school. Your help makes a significant contribution to the quality of education and daily experiences our children enjoy. These notes are designed to help you feel confident and comfortable when volunteering in school.

Many parents begin helping in their child’s class, which helps build strong home–school relationships. As children move up the school, your support is still needed — and often even more appreciated! If you're willing to help with older year groups, please let us know.

We truly value the time and support you give. Your involvement enhances learning and enriches our school community. We hope you enjoy your time with us!

Safeguarding & Supervision
  • All volunteers are supervised by staff and are never left in sole charge of children.
  • We ask regular volunteers to read our Safeguarding Children Policy.
  • Regular helpers will be asked to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • If you're not related to a pupil at the school, you'll be asked to fill out a volunteer form and provide two references.
Confidentiality

While helping, you may become aware of sensitive information.

  • Do not share any information about children or staff outside of school.
  • Respecting confidentiality builds trust and protects everyone involved.
First Aid
  • Do not administer first aid or medication under any circumstances.
  • If a child is unwell or injured, alert a member of staff immediately.
  • Staff are trained in the use of EpiPens for children with severe allergies
Security & Signing In
  • Please sign in at the office when you arrive and wear a visitor badge.
  • Sign out and return your badge when you leave.
  • This is essential for fire safety and site security.
Mobile Phones
  • Pleasedo not use your mobile phone in the school building or grounds.
  • Phones must never be used to take photos on site.
  • On special occasions (e.g. Sports Day or Performances), parents may take photos for private use only, not for posting online or on social media
Fire Safety
  • Fire evacuation procedures are displayed throughout the school.
  • In case of fire or drill, follow staff to the muster point on the school field (next to the adventure playground).

Children are expected to treat all adults in school respectfully. Please maintain and expect high standards of behaviour at all times.
