Managers Blog 26th April

We have all had a very busy but fun week at preschool and find ourselves at another Friday round up. We have been continuing our learning topic of 'minibeasts' and have enjoyed many activities to support our learning.

Caterpillars have been looking for bugs in the sand tray, making green playdough and creating bugs and flowers with it, singing songs with minibeasts in and searching the garden for bugs using the magnifying glasses. Other activities have included building very tall towers with the blocks and duplo, car races, reading The Gruffalo story, free mark making with crayons and pencils, making bumble bees using paper plates and building castles.

The Butterflies have been exploring a 'count the bugs' tuff tray, minibeast free colouring, searching for bugs in the garden, cutting leaf pictures for scissor practice and making habitat collages using natural materials. Other activities and group times have included lots of cafe and doctor role play games, trike races, making an England flag, designing a dragon, talking about 'big school' and puppet shows.

Next week we will be giving out new 'interests at home' sheets for you to complete which help us inform the children's next steps and activities.

Reminders:

  • GRAPES - please cut grapes in half lengthways to avoid choking at meal times.
  • LABELLING BOTTLES - please ensure a name has been added to your child's water bottle so we can avoid confusion
