Our School Council

As a school, we recognise the importance of all our pupils having a voice. Our school council is very active in representing the views of the pupil body and has led on several initiatives, including :
  • interviewing new staff
  • supporting better playtimes
  • improving meals at lunchtime
  • leading on safety during our new build
  • presenting to Governors

Our meetings are a great opportunity to share exciting ideas for activities or events that the children would like to to take place. Children also have meetings and projects that they work on throughout the year, showing true empowerment at its best.

What do we do?

Members of the Council take part in discussions and votes and also feed back any relevant information to their class. At times they are requested to ask their class for ideas or take class votes relating to discussions by the Council. Members meet regularly with Mrs Howard and record news clips to share in assembly.

What have we done so far?

We have organised special event fundraising days such as Children in Need, have planned and made  improvements to how we use our school and playground and we have created a new code of conduct for learning in and out of school. We regularly take part in interviewing new staff and present to Governors.
