Swift Class weekly learning update:

Week 4 Autumn Term 1

The children have worked so hard this week and it's been good to see how much they have developed in the last four weeks.  Our writing this week has been focused on identifying and writing captions.  We started the week by finding pictures that match the caption we were given.  By the end of the week we were writing captions to describe what Naughty Bus has been doing.

In maths, we continued to build on how we find one more and one less than a number.  We have been using first, then and now stories along with number tracks to support us with our understanding.  On Wednesday the children were busy making their Christmas cards ready to order.  We thought we wouldn't provide any photos of those as you will get to see their creations first hand very soon.

In geography we continued to develop our knowledge of the UK by learning about the capital cities of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  We also looked at the flags and national flower of each country.  On Friday we finished off our learning relating to saving a piece of work on Purple Mash.  We learnt that if we saved our work we could go back to it to make changes which is what we will do in next weeks lesson.
