The cast and staff worked tremendously hard to put on the show this week and appreciated the support from our parents and friends. The musical Olivia is based on three other musicals Oliver, Annie and My Fair Lady.

In the show, Olivia runs to London and meets The Artful Dodger and Fagin who trick her into helping them steal George Bernard Shaw’s wallet. Luckily flower seller Eliza Doolittle is there and is able to help Olivia out of trouble. Eliza takes her to Mrs Dillber’s Poor School for Girls and Olivia helps Emily and Charlotte, two other poor school girls, collect money for their school. There they meet three other flower sellers Doris, Flo and Queenie. The other flower seller, Annie, isn’t there as she suffers from amnesia and has bumped her head and is getting flashbacks. Olivia, Emily and Charlotte make a lot of money, “more in three minutes than they usually take in a week”.

Eliza takes Annie to Sherlock Holmes’ study to find her memory. In Covent Garden the flower sellers meet, except Eliza who is at Mrs Dillber’s teaching her lesson – elocution and English language, “like what is spoke by our own dear Queen”! Eliza soon returns and so do Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson and they have good news – they discovered that Annie was a passenger in a train crash and there was a handbag found and inside it was a birth certificate of a baby! The birth certificate was Olivia’s and Annie was her mother!
Olivia was a fantastic experience for everyone involved - well done Osprey & Kite classes.
